Leek Macaroni – Afghan Food Recipes طرز تهیه مکرونی لیک افغانی
When you craving leek dumplings (Ashak) at home and you are in a rush and don’t really have time for all the filling we go for a quick alternative: leek macaroni. We make the meat sauce, boil the macaroni with leek, add some yogurt garlic and there you go not leek dumplings but something as tasty.

With no further delay, here is what you need for this delicious meal:
Beef Sauce
- onions
- garlic
- Grounded veil meat or any other grounded meat
- tomato sauce
- green paper
and for spices you need the essentials:
- salt
- Coriander powder
- black pepper
Boiling
To boil the macaroni…you will need a Colander Pan
Once the water is boiling , add all the macaroni
also add a pinch of salt and a bit of oil in it. Add leek and let it boil just a little bit more.
Garlic Yogurt sauce
To make the sauce … it is preferred to use the Afghani yogurt called qoroot…But if you cannot get your hands on it…you can use any yogurt and add minced garlic in it…the water is used only if you are using the Afghani yogurt. Mix the yogurt well with water and add minced garlic.
Serving
Now that you have got everything ready…you just need to put them all together…
The very last thing left to do is fry the turmeric powder which you will pour on it at the very end (optional)
Grab a flat dish and serve them in layers as following
- A layer of Garlic yogurt sauce
- Macaroni
- Another layer of Garlic yogurt sauce
- Beef sauce
- Mint powder
- Fried turmeric powder (optional)
